Yellow Jambhala is regarded as the most esteemed and potent of the Wealth Gods and is an emanation of Buddha Ratnasambhava. He possesses the ability to alleviate poverty across the six realms, enhancing virtues, longevity, and wisdom.
Additionally, Yellow Jambhala is seen as an incarnation of Vaisravana, one of the "Four Great World-protecting Heavenly Kings". As a guardian of light in Buddhism, he is a benevolent deity who bestows wealth and protection. Lord Vaisravana resides in the crystal palace in the northern area of the Four Heavens, on Mount Sumeru's fourth level. His attendants include yaksas and bhaisajya-yaksas, known for their association with medicine and healing. His profound knowledge is attributed to his longstanding service in guarding the Buddhas, from which he has gained extensive teachings.
Physically, Yellow Jambhala is depicted with a yellow body, seated in the vajra posture. His right leg extends out with the foot resting on a snail and lotus flower, and his left leg is bent. He has a single face and two arms, holding a mongoose named Nehulay in his left hand, which emits jewels, and fruits resembling gems in his right hand. Typically, an image of Lord Vaisravana features a precious pagoda that releases treasures, but in Tibetan Tantric depictions, this is replaced with a treasure-dispensing mongoose. Yellow Jambhala's seat includes a lotus and symbols of the sun and moon, emphasizing his divine stature and cosmic influence.
